Brazos de Dios, a homestead community of about 1,000 people near Waco, has a free craft and children's fair the weekend of Thanksgiving-- Novemer 27-29. This will be the 21st fair they've hosted. Kids get to make crafts, watch skills demonstrations like barn raising, blacksmiting, sheepshearing, soap making. The food for sale is delicious and fresh. Tour the beautifully restored buildings from the 1700s and 1800s. Our family went three years in row! Tip: About 10,000 people attend this, so leave Dallas by 8:30 AM if you can.
